Death Valley

Death Valley - Great Places
Death Valley is in California and is the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere at 288 feet below Sea Level. This old structure was used in the 1860's as part of a mining operation that mined Borax from the Valley floor. Borax used to be a very valuable mineral when it was used for cleaning and preserving among other things. There are almost no structures in Death Valley and few inhabitants as Summer temperatures routinely reach over 120 degrees fahrenheit.
