Gargoyle over Paris

Gargoyle over Paris - Great Places
I took this shot from the very top of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris France. Many sculpted stone gargoyles line the roof and look out over the city. The Gargoyles were created and integrated into the design when they built the cathedral around the year 1200. The gargoyles were intended to ward off evil spirits and have been standing guard for over 800 years.
